The Villains Free Agency Rant thread

I'm baaaaaaack. After months of hiatis contumplating my master plan I'v decided to stray away from it to make this. Rant thread iv got somethings to get off my chest.

1st and foremost. Loomis wtf! Why on earth is Scott Shanle still wearing a FDL? Surely Manny Lawson, and Ernie Simms are a super charged upgrade at OLB! That said Lets go Martez Wilson I like what I see on film.

2nd. Reggie kinda bothered your no longer with the team I'd rather have him then play against him. We've got a solid core of RB' so lets pound the rock we know Drew and the Air show will get down the field.

3rd. RT. John Stinchcomb got his A__ kicked almost all season long. He made Chris Clemmons look like Dwight Freeny in that Debacle of a wildcard game. Need I say more Upgrade this position..

4th. Roman my main man Harper.. Fan favorite liability in coverage. He is a box safety solid tackler WHEN he wraps up! Those shoulder lunges dont help when TE's bounce off for 20+ yard gains. Not a must but Id look to upgrade this position Donte Whitner anyone?

5th. FullBack seeing how the rb position is full of inside in between the tackle runners we'll need a basher. Lawerence Vickers is a beast and availabe, To play for a winner and a fair deal should bring him to town. Get it done Loomis.

Speaking of Reggie why did we just donate him to Miami? What exactly.did we exchange with the phins?

WOW! Don't kill him it's early. Give Loomis a little credit. Reggie doesn't end up in our division, or even in the NFC. Moore is resigned, Bushrod resigned Harper is far better than Usama. I gotta agree with you on the Shanle front. So I'll join in with the killing of Loomis on that decision but I gotta think Shanle will be a backup this season vs the starter.

Payton said we saved 15 million by trading Reggie Bush. This was a no brainer.
Payton feels comfortable with Shanle. We can alway cut him if the young guys step up.
Brees feels comfortable with Stinchcomb.
Harper is a freak at tackling. One bad game in Seatle.
Evans is/was a great FB but is getting old. Hopefully he can still play.

You will be happy before Free Agency is over. Your rant doesn't hold water.

Whoa FF I thought you were my homie. One bad game in Seattle, one bad Game in Chicago, more bad games against carolina. Hes a great tackler. But coverage no. Atlanta and Green Bay are probably plotting how they can abuse him out there. With Greg Olson now in the south he needs to bring his PF Flyers. Im glad Drews comfortable with Stinch over Streif but Stich still gets.his A__ kicked its gross why do you think they bring in Streif to chip on some big body formations. Heath is solid but how often do you get a chance to get a head buster like Vickers? Any man who goes toe to toe with Ray Lewis is a quality idea to persue.

This is highlight film. It shows Harper making plays, few plays in coverage almost all tackles. Again hes a great tackler not so much in coverage. I love my Saints just like anyother fan but the reality is hes suspect in coverage. It doesnt matter what position he has to cover hes the matchup the QB os keeping in mind in his progression. Even when I play madden and I run into a fellow who dat I torch his ass because I know hes a bum In coverage. Remember when Drew was on the cusp of breaking an unattainable record that 3rd- 29 conversion Steve Smith caught on Roman Harper, remember that OT game in Chicago and just like all.game long Pass interference on Roman Harper cost the Season? All im saying is there are other SS's that tackle just as good.and.play well in coverage ie Donte Whitner, Dawan Landry, Brodney Pool, Quinten Mikel

Did you watch all 10 minutes of the highlight film? Think you could have found that much on any other players not name Vilma? No.

Look you could argue that if the pass rush and the LB play was better that Harper would be exposed to miss matches called by Williams. Yes Harper is a little slow on top end but he gets to maximium speed very quickly too. He has the smarts and is a sure tackler.

In any case, Harper isn't the problem with the defense. When you have a DL that can't put pressure on the QB or a LB corp that only has one playmaker, your SS will be left exposed.

ALL PLAYERS GET BEAT. There are great players on the other side of the ball getting paid too.

3. Stinchcomb is a lot better than you give him credit for.
4. Harper excelled agaist TE's all season untill the Seattle game. He's the only defender we have who can cover TE's. Gonzales proved that.
5. I'd love to see McClain (Ravens) brought in at FB.
