For what it's worth, Gregg Williams has often reiterated that he wants to stay in New Orleans for as long as the team will have him and that the Saints organization is the best place that he's ever coached.

In the last draft, Payton wanted Mark Ingram, but Gregg wanted Cam Jordan. They probably said something like "No way both of them make it to the bottom of the first round, we will pick up whichever one is left." Then they both came down. Payton gives Gregg the first pick and then gets Loomis to trade him up to the next spot so he can get his Ingram. |
