DT Mitch King
Player Profile 2011
Mitch King DT
First-team All-Big Ten pick in each of the past two seasons at defensive tackle, King's pro future could be at defensive end or linebacker -- the position he played in high school. The epitome of consistency and durability, King was a four-year starter and averaged 57 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks per season. A classic overachiever, King's relative lack of size belies his strength and refined technique at the point of attack. King will be considered a "tweener" by many due to his size, but his instincts, technique and passion for the game make him more than the sum of his parts. If he can play DE & LB, I see him getting some playing time...

Really impressed with this guy against SF. Great motor, good pass rush skills, awful arm tattoos.

He definitely looked good against SF, but it was mostly against 3rd string guys. I'm looking forward to seeing him play again against the Texans, and I remain optimistic.
Great video compilation and info... didn't know he also played LB. DE could be a good spot for him in the future, since, at least at present, he seems too "small" to go against starting O-Lines - which he might end up having to do in a backup DT role. |

He had a decent showing. For some reason I don't see him being much of an impact player or even making the team for that matter.

Maybe so but he will be on the pratice squad. Somebody will snatch him up before the season is over. He's going to learn a great deal from playing with the Saints and learning from Greg Williams.
