this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Interesting ... this is actually a good time to do it ... it leaves breathing room to implement whatever plan they already formulated. And Nicks at RT may not be so far fetched......

Might make running the ball to the right side unstoppable! Kruetz, Evans, Nicks Interesting.

I was a stinchcomb defender for all of last season when he was injured and throughout camp, but I lost the last thread of faith in him during that SF game, he got manhandled by a mediocre DE at best. I dunno why people are hating on Strief so much though, I mean he hasn't gotten many first team reps, and when he came into the game on Friday the SF line was totally off-balance to his side, even then he still held his own for a couple seconds against 2 defenders at a time at one point. (Chase ended up having to roll out away from his side and threw incomplete, Drew probably would have taken a shot before that point.)
I don't think he is a pro-bowler, but I think he can start. I would rather have our best tackle on the blind side please. |

Oh, whatever, you guys are petty and ridiculous. Clearly Stinch was one of the better RT's in the NFL before he got hurt. That isn't even in question.
Someday that's going to be Drew Brees. I'd hope that when that day comes fans give him a little more respect than this. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go throw up a little. |

And I will always love Drew for what he has done for this team and this city. But if the time comes that he is holding this team back with consistently bad performances, yes, I will be calling for a switch at QB. I won't feel bad about that either. |

He deserves a damn sight better than the way some so-called "fans" have treated him this last year or so. Guy has played his guts out for the Saints for many years and shown a ton of class and hard work and all some of you can do is crack jokes. Shame on you. |

According to ESPN, the Saints still have to pay him. He's going to get get a pretty good chunk of change coming to him. The only way they would have avoided paying him would've been to trade him. Since he's still getting paid, it counts toward the cap.
