Simma down now, simma down. No one needs to be fired, it's the players who need to keep in shape during the offseason instead of letting themselves go and they could probably warm up a little more before they start headbutting the crap out of each other. Look these guys are adults and get paid alot of money to play a game. Their only responsibility is too stay in shape so they can play. I don't see it any other way. Coaches brought us to the promised land and I don't care if they loose for the next 30 seasons. SAINTS WON A FREAKING SUPERBOWL END OF STORY!

None of the coaches want players to get injured, and I honestly believe they do all they can to prevent it. But its the nature of the sport, its the roughest team sport in existence and injuries are going to happen.

I agree with this except for the one part: rugby for one comes to mind. Even without the "thumb action" the after game pub runs are a killer - or so I've been told.
