You are about a half an inch from being Choup part two, but you aren't even half as funny as he is.
I see this thread moving to Smack Talk very soon... But let me retort before I do.

I blast a lot of our guys... ask me my thoughts about Zach Strief, Paul Oliver, Scott Shanle, Brees (of late) or a number of others, and I'll give you my honest opinion.

What I don't like is douche nozzles who call for somebody's job because of something out of their control. The trainers are there to stretch, ice, and treat injured players... not to use magical wizard powers to prevent injuries. S&C coaches are there to make guys bigger, stronger, faster, not to be blamed every time somebody goes down. People get injured, why does it have to be somebody's fault? Maybe the player didn't stretch properly, maybe the player wore the wrong cleats, maybe certain weather conditions made an injury more possible, maybe there was a minuscule tear in a player's hamstring from a while ago that just now flares up.

Obviously I ruffled your feathers on the other thread because you so wisely stated that Robert Meachem "sucks" and should be cut because he made a challenging over the shoulder sideline grab and didn't defy the laws of gravity to stay in bounds... regardless of whether or not he moved the team inside the ten yard line. But you're right, let's cut him, he sucks. Let's get you out there on the field big boy, I'm sure you could teach our boys a thing or two about making difficult over the shoulder catches in the NFL.

It's cool, you can't handle people calling out your b.s., I understand.

First off, the laws of gravity can't really be defied. The laws of motion would have been much more relevant in that context. An object in motion stays in motion, etc. etc.

Second, going out of bounds shouldn't have been "out of his control". That was my issue. He had more than enough room to correct his angle and get into the endzone.

Finally, I didn't say I was a better football player than anyone one the team. I didn't insinuate it. The fact that you have to use that for an argument shows how lacking your defense is. You haven't rebutted any of my points, you just say "WAS NOT" and "YOU CAN'T DO BETTER" and other nonsense arguments that a 5th grader is too sophisticated to use.

You don't have to be a better football player than the pros to comment on their performance. Otherwise this board wouldn't exist.

My argument = "Here are the facts and this is my opinion on them"

Your argument = "Sean Payton should be fired as the Head Coach of the Saints because he wasn't/isn't as good a player as Drew Brees, so he should have no comment on how Drew plays football."

Sokay, I'm not upset. You keep calling me out as a way of avoiding the substance of my argument, and your point that since I'm not a pro football player I can't comment on football is so stupid there is NO chance that I will actually take it to heart and change my behavior when it comes to expressing my opinion on the Saints, be it positive or negative. Did you expect it to make me cry and repent my sins to Breesus? LOL, not likely.

And Danno, you don't have room to talk. I could get you to jump into this catfight in a heartbeat with one well worded sentence about Morestead.

Correct. A punter wouldn't have been worth those draft picks, but he is a Punter! I'm glad you are finally coming around.

I think that it's all relative, and come on man - it was a 5th round draft pick. Other than Jenkins... would you say that the two 4th round picks before him have made a bigger contribution to the Saints' success since the draft: Chip Vaughn and Stanley Arnoux.

Personally I would say that Morstead has been a key contributor to what the Saints have done in the kicking game during the last couple of seasons, and I would definitely say that the 5th round pick was very deservedly used on him.

As for the trade up... NYG picked Stoney Woodson with the Saints' 7th in '09 and Mick Petrus in '10 with the 5th. I haven't heard neither one of them making headlines lately, have you? Naturally the Saints could've made better choices with those picks, but that is not guaranteed as just the 4th round pick of Chip Vaughn in the '09 draft proves.

If not for McBride of the Cowgirls, Morstead would already be a perennial pro bowl punter, so show some love for the kickers too... they're key parts of the whole as well.

Yep, it was 2 picks in a 4 pick draft, no other team has ever done that to my knowlege.

He's a punter, and its the most insignificant position on a football team.
