Payton's a teacher. After Brees he would just start teaching the next student of the game. That time may be sooner rather than later. #9 has knees and ankles and a whole list of other body parts that could end up in an awkward position beneath a 300 pounder. Daniels is not Brees, but he could still get it done in a Sean Payton offense.

I trust Drew more than Payton to stick around. I love him and all, but he is a wild card, you don't know what he is going to do, on the field or off. I don't really think he is invested in the New Orleans community to the point where he would stay here in a rebuilding phase and skip a chance at another ring somewhere else.
Drew on the other hand seems really appreciative of the city and enjoys living here.

That said, they are both from Texas, and if the sign start showing that the rest of the team is breaking down, it isn't outside the realm of reason for them both to look at Houston (I don't think Dallas is a good fit) to pick up where they left off.

Payton came here after Katrina. Read his book. I think it's foolish to think that he would jet the moment that Drew retires.

Does this mean we get to watch the "Shanle Walk-by" for that long too?!

That's when, at the end of a play and there's a pile, you get to see Shanle WALK BY like he's got business down the street from this crowded bus stop...

Sorry.

I'll take 5-6 more!!!!

I meant that SP started his NFL career in and his family lives there now. I believe that gives him as strong of connections to Texas as anywhere. And Houston is half the distance from his family that he is now.

Actually he started his NFL coaching career in Philly as a QB coach.

SP is guaranteed here as long as Drew is healthy and playing. In my opinion when the last curtain goes down for Drew, at that point SP will move on. He may go the route his buddy Chucky did and go into the booth and do a few NFL special programs. He can make the same bucks without sweating it out on the field. And at the same time we will be calling Drew Governor Brees.
