Pass blocking & run blocking are so different that after the steady diet of passing the line was not ready/able (whatever) to really block properly on that run!!
I somewhat agree.
I think pass blocking is easier after establishing a push in the run game.
Put teams on their heels and they stay home and pass rush is abated.
I also think that the opposite is NOT true.
I'm a pass-off-the-run kind'a guy and NOT a run-off-the-pass dude.
Its a mind-set and we lost the battle of the trenches early, and never turned the tide. Payton has always been pass happy. Payton seems to want to run after he gets Brees going, and its iffy at best. When Brees goes for +400 we are like 3-7, its crazy. Payton needs to spread the field for his pro-bowl center/guards combo, and not let teams put 8 people in the box on short yardage running situations. The screens aren't working either. I think somebody got a copy of our play book.
