The outcome of that game could have easily been a Colts victory without that extra possession. He has been doing a magnificent job ever since. Is two draft picks worth a Superbowl victory? Personally, I think so. Just my opinion.

1. Thomas Morstead isn't the reason we won the Superbowl.
2. Thomas Morstead isn't the only kicker that can kick on-sides.
3. The reason it worked was the surprise, not the kick.
4. The kick bounced off a normally sure handed WR.

You can say he's the reason we won the Superbowl, I'll go with Brees, PT, Colston, Porter, Greer etc.

He's a punter.

I think it was Scott Fujita challenging Manning to an Oreo lick off that really won the game

I hate to beat a dead horse, but...

That statement is incorrect, because the Saints traded their 7th round pick in 2009 for a 5th round pick in the same draft. However, they also gave away their 5th round pick in the 2010 draft, but that doesn't equate to them giving up "two draft picks in a four pick draft". If anything, they improved their draft in 2009 (7th round pick to 5th round pick) by giving up a late round pick in the next years draft.

I do agree that one could make an argument against using two draft picks - 5th and 7th - to draft a punter, but that is a whole other argument than debating whether using two draft picks in a 4 pick draft was worth it.

Anyway, I totally think it was worth it, because Morstead has been very reliable and good in his performances ever since the day he first put on the black & gold uniform.

I'm certainly not saying he's the reason we son the Superbowl. I agree with you. There are many reasons we won that game, and Morestead was, I feel, a big part of that victory, just like Brees, Greer, Porter, Colston, Hartley, etc. It was a true team effort that day and Morestead was a big part of the team. With that successful onside kick, we took away a possession from the Colts and we gained an extra possession. That is a possible point swing of 14 points. We won that game by 14 points. Am I reaching? Probably. But I'm glad it was Morestead kicking that ball that day.

He is also a great guy. He was one of the last people signing autographs at training camp. And oh yeah, he played rugby where kicking for space is critical.
