makes perfect sense to me. I feel sorry for their players, because Houston is a souless megacity, where everyone is from somewhere else, and no one's heart is invested. You're only here because of your work. Their fans need a box of Cialis, because the passion is just not there.

Its sad to see a city that used to have the most rabid fans outside of New Orleans and Green Bay become drab and sterile. Everyone in their stadium is a "client," not a fan.

With that said, I am little concerned about this game, but I wonder if it's just because I was at the Saints/Texans preseason game where they played their starters "forever", and we played our 3rd stringers against them??? Seems like Kubiak wants to beat the Saints so bad that he would pull out all of the stops to do so, even in preseason, and THAT may just be his downfall. I know I live over here in the Houston area, but still can't bring myself to cheer for them, even when we're not playing them.....they're just a really hard team to love!

Being that your from Louisiana I dont find it hard to believe you cant cheer for the Texans. Hell i'f I moved to Louisiana I wouldnt change my loyalty's .

TackHammer...you might! It's pretty easy to love the Saints! Hubby used to be a Dallas fan, and when we got married 8 years ago and I moved here from Louisiana, he fell in LOVE with New Orleans and the Saints...now he's a bigger fan than me, if possible!

Obviously, you've never been to the Superdome.

Reliant (even the name is corporate) Stadium is the drabbest, dullest sports experience I've ever had, and I've sat thru the slack of calf roping.
(ask a rodeo person.)

If youre coming to the game, you're in for some culture and some shock.

Nothing at all against Houston - I have plenty of family there and spent a lot of time coming over to Astros games in the dome.

But I was so underwhelmed by Reliant Stadium. I came to the last Saints game there (regular season) in what, 2007 or whatever it was?

And hey SM, why you pickin' on Rodeo man? With the NFL rules such as they are, Rodeo may be the last real man's sport. And I don't wanna hear none of that NASCAR caca either.

I've been all over Louisiana, some of it I like, some of it not so much.
The same can be said about pretty much everywhere I've been.

I am having a hard time figuring out the Texans. They'll be missing Foster, whatever that means. It seems like there's not a definitive personality/style for either offense or defense. That may be good for them, but the preseason game didn't impress me. They've played Indiana State for the Terminally Disabled at home and struggled against a Miami team that does less with more than any other in the league - Reggie got 4 plays?

The fact that the line is at 4 now is more due to a Schaub factor than anything.

Despite all this, I can't think of a matchup problem that the Texans pose that we wouldn't have with any other team. GW bringing 6 40% of the time is going to wear Schaub out. I don't think the Texans coaching staff realizes just how fast and varied the blitz stunts are. Will Schaub be able to recognize them?

Miami was better then I expected. But they did have the #6 D last year.
And at least they didnt put up 500 yards on us like they did the Pats.
Biggest disappointment was the slacking off in the third qtr, thought for sure they where going to blow it. Then Schaub marches down field in 5 plays and scores like it was easy....shat drives me nuts.
