I wonder if all the people who keep saying "we're going to have to go to Green Bay" don't realize, that if Green Bay loses to a low seed in the first round, and the Saints win in the first round, we would have playoff games AT HOME. I guess it's just a pipe dream, it's not like any other defending Super Bowl team has ever lost an easy game in the first round....

Green Bay would likely be a 1 or 2 seed, therefore they'd get a bye week.

It can certainly still happen, but its not just New Orleans that doesn't wanna play there.

Here's a nice lil scenario that illustrates your point...

Lets say Saints get the 3 seed (although #2 is more likely to me), here's the round 2 matchups...

Green Bay #1 loses to NY Giants #4.

San Fran #2 loses to New Orleans #3

NFCCG = NYG AT New Orleans
Also, had we beaten Seattle last year, the NFCCG probably goes thru New Orleans (we'd have gotten several injured players back).

Indy - If we don't win, fire everyone
Lambs - If we don't win, blow up the dome. (Theirs)

O.B. - they lead the division, so we lose, we lose tiebreaks
Clowns - See above.

BYE

Giants - They are always tough late in the season. Saw them beat our mirror (the Bills)

Lions - Oh boy. Our linemen look like slabs of crispy bacon. Loss.

Teetons - Can't overlook the QB that made our D look stupid.

Minnesota - by this time Ponder will be needing a good dose of Saints' "lets make the rookie look like an All Pro" seasoning.

Clowns at home - At this point, if we are 8-2 after the break, we're 10-4 and in a dogfight for a spot. GB, SF and Lions will have clinched. Giants look like a lock at this point. TB, Clowns, Eagles, Skins, Boys and Saints battling for it all.

Panties - Classic "win and you're in" scenario. Even with a win against Clowns, no guarrantees. Could be second time 11-5 team misses playoffs.

We have no room for error.
No we don't. We could easily lose any one of those last five games.

Playoffs? Not gonna happen with Drew Brees on pace for 704 passing attempts. If this passing frenzy keeps up, the Saints will be lucky to go 8-8 this year. I do believe the staff knows this already, and will adjust. I would love to see at least 35 rushing attempts on Sunday Night. That would be a nice start. The talent is there to get it done. I know the front line is crap, but even with a crappy front line 3 yards a carry is almost a given.

Wow, lot of negativity in this thread...

We are 4-2 with 2 patsies coming up. We are double-digit favs in those games.

As for the back 8, we will be favored in 6, maybe 7 of those games.
@ ATL we are a 3 point dog.
So... good teams win when their supposed to. If we do, no problem getting #2 seed.
