I want a really great defense hard hitting, head banging, sure tackling group of stud horses out there, if any of you see just 1 let me know. We don't see any of the good play that we are capable until we have a good lead,my question is why. I know we can play better than than we do, we have good players.

Its the front 4 and sub-par LB play, including Vilma.

Exactly, front four get no pressure. DB's have been OK, LB's are hit or miss (Shanle is the weakest). These guys are professionals, tackling shouldn't need to be taught.

MLB and our DT's aren't playing well either.

I've been disappointed with the performances of the two new FA DTs - Franklin and Rogers - because I thought that they would be able to create more push and draw double teams, which would free up the two 3-techs - Ellis and Johnson - to inflict some serious damage and/or allow the DEs to cause a lot of pressure on the QB.

That has not happened yet, but I'm hopeful that because the Saints have been able to have great rotation with the big guys through the first half of the season, they'll be more fresh at the end of the season than some of the O-line guys they are facing, and because of that it'll be a complete massacre of opposing QBs come playoff time.

...oh, and I almost choked with laughter while watching FOX's broadcast of the Sunday's game when they presented the starting defensive line-up of the Saints and Tim Ryan said: "love the linebackers."

Rogers seems to be non-existent. If he's not going to start producing, he needs to be 4th in the rotational chart after Ellis, Franklin, and Johnson. On paper, our interior defensive line looks great. I was okay giving them a pass for struggling earlier in the season due to lack of camp and the building of chemistry, but they should be playing much better by now. They need to get on their game because we can't do jack if our DT's aren't getting push and necessitating double teams.

I agree..why with all that beef are teams able to gauge us right up the gut..i know some are cutbacks ..but you would think they would be disciplined enough to stay in their lanes. They always seem to flow to wrong side .

Im as equally as concerned with the O-Line...

If you watch closely, most of those lanes DO have a Saint body in it. The problem is, most of the time, we don't make the flippin tackle!! Roman Harper is the worst at this. Vilma has whiffed quite a few himself.
