DeMarco Murray Stats - Dallas Cowboys - ESPN
Ingram was a smart move at the time. PT and Ivory were both injured and Reggie was still on the roster. Nobody knew Sproles would be the best pickup since Brees either. Ingram was a proven back in the SEC and virtually injury free. Once he dropped down that far Saints had to grab him.

[QUOTE=SaintsBro;347846]One of the Gregg Williams patented "things" is finding kinda "no-name" guys and coaching them up to be decent for the scheme. should work.

Ummm.. not exactly. Apparently nobody looked at his stats in the link I posted.
I'll post it again: Scott Shanle Stats - New Orleans Saints - ESPN

Greg didn't find anything with Shanle. Shanle has been here since 2006, Greg wasn't hired till 2009.

To take it a step further on how GW is doing him no favors, if you look at his numbers, they are actually worse the last 3 years than they were before GW got here. Shanle hasn't had a sack yet since GW showed up. Facts are facts..he stinks but obviously our new guys for some imaginable reason can't seem to unseat him.

I love my team regardless but if we pick another DB with our first pick im gonna go ape s**T!!

I am one of the very few Shanle supporters. Yes he's better suited as a back up... no doubt about it. But it isn't his fault no one can beat him out. Because of his football IQ and knowledge of the system, he seems to be in position to make plays but he's just not capitalizing. As average as he's been, we're still at the top of our division and he's the best we got until someone takes his spot. I think it's a little unfair he's consistently being thrown under the bus. He's only one of many underachieving players on defense right now.
iceshack149 and strato like this.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Cubicle-partition! That's it! Cubicle partition!

You place him in the defensive backfield and players have to run around him. Harmless, but he channels ball carriers to other players, reducing the available turf by... oh... NINE square feet!

And if the ball happens to get thrown right to it, it bounces right off!

LOL

This is too much fun.

It's truly laughable if it weren't so sad.

Imagine a TRUE, top-caliber Pat Swilling performer at his position. But you're absolutely right in that he's all we got until we GET.

All in fun,

He may not have had a tackle but he hit Manning several times, and a couple conveniently late.
