this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He's on pace for 800+ but a good game or two, he could seriously get 1,000. I'm assuming reaching that earmark could have an impact on what we get...I don't know but if we get a couple of picks maybe ...

Draft pick(s) for Reggie?
He's on pace for 800+ but a good game or two, he could seriously get 1,000. I'm assuming reaching that earmark could have an impact on what we get...I don't know but if we get a couple of picks maybe a 2 and 4 it would be one of the best trades the Saints have ever made.

The rumor was if he played well we'd get a 4th. But that was probably just speculation.

That's the thing, what is playing well, his best to date is under 600 yds rushing. I find it hard to believe Loomis would make light of hitting the 1,000 mark in the contract.

I guess the details will be locked until draft time. No big deal, it would just be fun knowing we are indeed getting a bigger piece of pecan pie.

Somehow, I've thought to myself that the Saints would get - in the best possible scenario - a 5th round pick if Bush meets the performance requirements.
I'd be happy with a 5th, because lets face it, the Saints had to get rid off Bush's contract and they already got Amaya from MIA, who has been a good addition to the ST coverage. |

Highly doubt there's a 2nd rounder involved but a man can dream.

We stole that pick, whatever it turns out to be. |

So, all in all, I think it was a good deal for MIA as well as for the Saints. And I think that if there's someone who lost in that deal it would be Bush himself, but that is hard to estimate because he never entered the FA market and so we can never know what his market value would've been. If you look at it from that standpoint - the Saints franchise owe gratitude toward Bush for handling the situation as he did, nevermind what he has said since in the media. |
