Are you not understanding dam1953 is pointing out the quality of opponents they played? |

This game is going to come down to the turn-over difference.

you missed the whole emphasis of this thread;
the OP was just showing that other teams moved the ball on your D. I took it a step further and showed that lesser QB's put 300+ passing yards on your D. And if you think that if Drew throws for 416 and you still win, you're delusional... |

stats can say almost anything they want BUT I think there are some valid points.
It all boils down to who wants the game the most & which team can avoid stupid plays (i.e. Turnovers!!) |

I believe what Canton is implying is that even though we give up passing yards, what matters is points on the board which in my opinion should rank a defense. We have an average of 14.3 points. Steelers beat us by .1 point with 14.2. We gave up a garbage TD to the Rams in week 17 which knocked us down a peg.
You guys imply that you have a "bend don't break" defense. Well, that is exactly what the 9ers have. You can have the first 80 yds, but the last 20 belong to our defense. Hence, best red zone defense in football. Who cares if you throw up 300 + yds on us if you're not scoring TD's and at the end, we come out with the win. |

They play the games on their schedule and came out with an outstanding record We played several weak teams too but nobody here will point that out. You can't simply look at the schedule and pretend like it shows their deficiencies The 49ers gave up yards but not TDs. Who really gives a crap if a qb throws for 900 yards if he can't put it in the end zone? |
