this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I would like to keep Meachem, as he can stretch the field. However, at WR, Colston is priority no 1. Once Colston is locked up, we can think about Meachem, if he still hasn't signed with another team by that ...

However, at WR, Colston is priority no 1. Once Colston is locked up, we can think about Meachem, if he still hasn't signed with another team by that time. The whole key is getting the Brees deal done, so the team can work on Nicks and Colston, probably franchising Nicks until he can be signed to a Jahri Evans-type deal. Most teams value tackles (especially LTs) much more than guards. So Nicks may not get unreasonable offers from other teams. If he were a LT (or other teams thought he could play LT well) his offers would be unreasonably high. Also on Meachem, remember Joseph Morgan (no 13) will be coming off IR. Morgan has the speed at WR, and can also play STs. So losing Meachem might not be that big of a deal. |

What's not to like about Meachum? He's fast and makes plays. Are you guys resigning him? Or letting him go in free agency?

Would really like to have some of the Saints WR's. LOL. I guess we each have some strong points. The front 7 of the 49ers is pretty damn good. But our WR's could really use some work. Vernon Davis at TE is great but the WR's don't impress me. I like Colston and Meachum both. Hoping we can get one of those....

But Crabtree I think you can have. He's pretty slow and doesn't separate well. A lot of Diva attitude with him as well. He may be overrated around the NFL by fans coming from a guy who watches the team every week. He's certainly not bad but I don't think he is as good as his reputation is either. |

Meachem is ok. I think he is on a slow learning curve; which in the NFL isn't a good thing. Devery had a slow learning curve. It took him a while but no matter what some say here, Devery is a good WR. The issue with him, is that it took him too long to get where he's at now. If Meachem follows this path he wont be here long.
