Fin, if at the right price (big if and not saying it is smart! ), I might be interested in A. Franklin on another 1-year deal to see what he can do in Spags defense. That being said, I like T. Johnson and M. King. The verdict is still out on S. Miller.

I agree that Franklin might be worth bringing back, but it would have to be at the right price like you stated, and that would have to be really cheap... dirt cheap.

We haven't heard anything about him visiting or negotiating with other teams, so I don't know if it's just that teams want to hear the possible suspensions before they are willing to make a move for him or if it is that Franklin is asking for too much... or that he already has "an understanding" with the Saints about potentially coming back.

I think that he might be looking to go back to a team with a predominantly 3-4 approach to the defense, which is where he shined in SF, so if the Saints are sticking with the base 4-3 I'm not sure if he would be that motivated in coming back. Also with the addition of Bunkley, who is a natural 4-3 run stuffing DT, I don't know if the Saints really need Franklin's services.

If Franklin is asking for about what he got last season, which was $4M, I would much rather see that roster spot go to a rookie DT like Wolfe or Hicks, who could potentially produce some pass rush to add to the run defense.

But yeah, they need to add a DT or two to the roster be it via free agency or the draft.

The guys a straight downfield burner....If you think is YPC average was crazy with Big Ben imagine what it will be with Brees throwin to him....

And give up two 1st round picks in the process..? No, thank you!
