Saints offseason
I know a lot of you are just like me in thinking that this offseason was going to be so exciting knowing that the Saints had some holes and plenty of money to play with....1 month has passed and fans never got a chance to see that top notch player even visit New Orleans, which equals to a boring offseason. But if you look back, a dropped pass here, a fumble there, one or two drive-killing holding penalties, and oh yeah, missed extra points caused the Saints to lose 4 games in my opinion.....so the Saints save some money, pick up a few players, prepare to lock up Deuce long term and couple that with a solid draft and we can be a legit contender next year....i can make that debate with anyone so be careful if you try and call me out.

Saints offseason
Welcome JimBone! I agree with you that the offseason has been pretty boring as a Saints fan, but I\'ll reiterate a comment I made in a previous post.....it doesn\'t surprise me. The Saints have never been really big in going after the big-name, high caliber players, but you made a good observation in that they didn\'t even bring any in to even speak with. That is one thing that kind of did surprise me. I figured the front office would\'ve AT LEAST gotten our hopes up with a star player coming in to visit, but not even that happened. I think they finally realized that all the off-season turnover that they\'ve had the last several seasons has been quite a bit excessive. I\'m not saying that I\'m happy overall with the team they will field next year, but the Saints were decimated by the injury bug last year to players who were supposed to be big contributors (i.e. Darren Howard, Cie Grant, and Mel Mitchell). We know what Howard can do when healthy, but have yet to see how Mitchell and Grant perform on the field. With a GOOD draft, they can fill the needs necessary to be playoff contenders again. The signings they\'ve made up-to-date have been above average at best, but the team chemisty (which is questionable to begin with), should still be there with most of last year\'s team returning. There is a lot of talent on the team as a whole, let\'s just see if they can finally be coached into performing to their expectations and abilities.
