this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He's not worth that. He's good but not great. Not super speedy. And some injury concerns. He's a product of Drew Brees throwing to him. The ball placement is unreal....

Not worth 7 million, you've got to be kidding me. Clearly 5 thousand yard seasons in 6 years isn't worth that. But a guy like Vincent Jackson(statistics below), is worth 10+ a year. Vincent Jackson Stats - San Diego Chargers - ESPN Surely you can see how your statement is retarded to the tenth degree. How about I say Wes Welker is a product of Tom Brady. Reggie Wayne a product of Peyton Manning. "Super speedy" means absolutely nothing as far as football is concerned. They're playing football out there, not running track. |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

I'll add to that though, For Colston, if the reports are true that is a freakin hometown discount, because could easily to Cleveland, Tampa, and make twice that if it was just about the money!!!! BTW Drew Brees is phenomenal, dont get me wrong but at times his throws leave recievers open to get smashed. I'll give you a couple of my favorite video examples if you dont believe me!!!! Colston took a physical beating this season including a seperated sholder were he sold out to make a play in Green Bay, he never gives up on plays ( ala Randy Moss, and to some extent V, Jax) 7 mil per is stealing from is honestly stealing from him. |

Are you serious, His injury concerns are a direct result going all out on throws from brees!!! It's the reason he missed four games last season.

Drew doesn't have a remote control in his hands controlling these receivers, yes Drew can throw it to anyone but once that ball is out of his hands Drew is useless and the power is in the receiver's hands. |
