Bountygate possibly taint Saints Super Bowl win

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; No bounty, had anything to do, with us winning that superbowl.... Even if, they carry on with this bs, you can't penalize the entire team for it. It had nothing to do with the plays carried out on the field.......

The issue isn't how many, if any, players the Saints injuried, or how much, if any, money was paid to players.

The problem is that a bounty problem was in place to intentionally injure players for money.

If the report that Vilma put $10K cash on the table and said it was for knocking Favre out of the '09 NFCC, then he is phucked like a Chuck. I could see the Saints releasing him and saying it was for his role in this.

Every defensive player in the league wants to inflict as much pain as possible on their opponent.

Just because a bounty exists doesn't mean players are gonna play dirty.

Its all about image and nothing else.

This doesn't taint the SB Title.

Every person who has played defense has a "Killer" attitude, for how they play the game. Your job as a defensive player is to knock the crap outta the guy with the ball. You are taught that all the way down to Pee-Wee level.

If you have a "I'm only going to try my best to just tackle the guy with the ball and make sure I don't hurt him"; you don't need to play on the defensive side of the ball.

This "Shocking Breaking News" crap; is just that....CRAP! This is going on in each and every NFL/E-NFL/College/High School team. This is BS, and I would like to know who the "Whistle blower" is. This is nothing more than some bored, penishead, reporter who never played a sport in his life, trying to make a name for himself.

Yes....Sapper is P.O.!!!!!!!!

"We are number one. All others are number two, or lower."

saintsfan1976: I got a theory for you. What if it was Williams who leaked all this. He left the Saints to go to the Rams and knowing he had players with the Saints that he would want to take with him or that if they made it to the playoff over the next two years he would have to face the Saints. In "leaking" this he would accomplish several things;
1. He would possibly get a couple of those players because the Saints may be likely to cut them loose.
2. He would ensure we loose a few draft picks, which he new we would wind up using on the defensive side of the ball.
3. He would ensure that some of the players we are able to keep will be suspended and thus we would loose a few starters/key players.
4. He would ensure that the Saints would loose money in fines
5. Finally he would be able to label the team as "dirty" and all the while he just gets fined and moves on, no consequences for his new team.

I know it is far fetched but so is they idea that the Saints are the only one in the league who have done this. There is no way that Goodell can tell me "there was no evidence" of this occuring any were else in the league. Other players have already tweeted that it is happening.

As for the SB win being tainted, forget those who are saying that. The defense did not get us there all by themselves, it took a heck of a good of offense, special teams and coaching to earn that ring. As disgusted as I am about this whole thing, NO ONE is going to tell me that Championship is tainted.

All I got to say is that the way our defense played the last couple of years, there should be a carry over pot somewhere because they aint hit no one hard enough that was worthy of extra cash.

Let's put it this way... does anyone think the Spygate Patriots give a 2 cents about what everyone thinks about them?

They're shining their diamonds right now... and laughing in everyone's faces.

If you're a baseball fan, Mark McGwire is giving you the thumbs up.

Suck it up and move on. If someone came to your face and said forfeit your next 2 first round picks and to a championship, there's not a soul in any forum that wouldn't do it. Hell Cubs fan would sell their first born.
