... as FallcAints will ... I was hearing something like this on Detroit sportstalk, but in regards to how Brees' contract talks could apply to Matthew Stafford ... do these reporters all hang around the same gym or something? Anyway, since Stafford hasn't been in the league four years and his first two were with injury, I applied the numbers to last season only (Stafford's first complete season).

What they're getting at is Drew's contract will set precedence for QB's with similiar numbers in the future. Unfortunately for Matty "Ice", I don't think his numbers are going to hold up going forward.
There's also that little matter of having a SuperBowl ring ... QB's at that level are judged on how many championships they win. Stafford & Ryan got a ways to go yet.
