I actually saw this and glad I did because it is starting to change the way I view this whole mess.
Essentially all the players on the panel agreed that it sounds bad because there is a name for it... "BOUNTY". But there is some form of it carried out by the players themselves only but for INT's fumbles ect. The key point here is that the Saints are the ones who institutionalized it on a coaches level and called for a player to be injuried. Golic's point was of all the hits from the Saints games that they were discussing are ALL LEGAL hits. If he was in any of those situations he'd make the hit. You do those things in the course of the game but nothing stood out to him that the Saints players were playing to collect bounty's. What I found interesting and no one picked up on was that each of those retired players NEVER thought that the "pools" ran by players was ok in their minds but not when an assistant coach is involved with it. Like its ok if only players do it but no one else can be in the pool. That doesn't make it ok!?!?! Its illegal still. I do equate it as an office pool but if you go look and most corporations employee handbooks there is usually a clause that office pools are technically illegal but they still operate them, lol. I don't want to see players get hurt or become a blood sport. If we must suffer penalties then so be it. We at least got rid of GW at a good time it seems. Look take a draft pick or two even. We can survive that hell there is FA's. The interesting thing is the suspensions and fines and to who. YIKES. Players are going to end up being cut because the suspension is to long... who is going to want to keep certain players because they have to sit say 8 weeks? I know I wouldn't especially some of the players we had that we can LIVE without. I think Vilma gets cut. |

Technically...
Every player on the panel is guilt of this so called "bounty" rule by their answer and suspect every defensive player in the league guilty of it... except Darren Sharper, lol. |

Tom Jackson is a hater from long ago.
Apparently someone in New Orleans has pictures of him with a horse and published them because he has always had a hate on for the Saints. |

Here's a couple really good threads on this site that really put the whole thing in the proper perspective. One of them is the Mike Golic interview. They just got buried ... bump 'em up.

I'm not saying that this is how it is, merely that there could be some obstacles in the way of cutting any potential players facing future suspensions. |
