And that the FANS who want to some how oddly justify it or defend the act because it's a rough sport, and it's a supposedly accepted culture within the sport, are completely, well dumb.

But since you brought it up, yes, the players are still guilty; it's called being an accessory to a crime.

Where is your evidence??? Are you speculating? I haven't heard an audio or seen a video yet with money offered up or cart off comments made. In the United States of America, you are innocent until PROVEN guilty.......unless Obama changed that too.

AGAIN, GOODELL has OFFICIALLY stated they have HARD evidence. That is MY evidence, I don't work in the industry, so how can I present you with those?

Why would GOODELL risk his career/reputation for some personal vendetta for something w/ NO evidence?

ChrisXVI 04-05-2012 07:57 PM

Goodell has hard evidence that the system was in place. Once again, you can't seem to distinguish between an idea and the action actually taking place. You've made statements in this thread that GW PAID players for intentionally injuring opposing players. I've watched every single Saints game with GW as our DC and so please tell me who was carted off or knocked out of the game by an illegal hit. You can't because there isn't one.

No, Gregg Williams was offering to pay to injure. There is no proof that any player fell for the idiot's demands and actually followed through. Nobody would justify that. What we are defending is that we refuse to believe that our players actually did what Williams wanted. And how are the players guilty? There has been no proof that any of them actually tried to injure, not simply hurt, an opponent for pay.

I agree that Williams is scum, but just because players were sitting in the room listening to the moron doesn't mean they bought int ohis delusions.

He has NEVER stated he had any HARD evidence on players. In fact, after he gave the expanded reports to the NFLPA De Smith said that there was nothing in the reports that would justify any punishment upon players.

The personal attacks truly help prove my point.

This isnt about whether or not other teams supposedly do the same thing. Or whether or not someone did get injured.

Its about GW being such a subpar human being. That he actually paid someone to intentionally inflict serious injuries to another human being. They could have ended someones career.

I'm also not saying to NOT support your team, but what i am saying is that to try to sugar coat the situation or point fingers like its some world wide accepted culture is just sad.

You make yourselves look stupid trying to defend that notion. Ironically it was saints fans trying to claim niner fans as unclassy not too long ago.

It it because he suggested to the players to hurt someone, or is it because there was money involved?

If I punch you dead in your face because your ex-best friend told me to do it, does it really matter whether or not I got paid?

The whole effing idea behind football - real football, not the kind the league is morphing into before our very eyes - is to knock the holy ever loving crap out of the other guy. This is how your guy knocked our guy out last season. Should it matter that a coach did or didn't tell your guy to do it?

It's not cheating. All anybody here wants is fair play. Plenty of players have stated this is common place. Hell man (it is man isn't it), we've been saying all along this has nothing to do with safety or even morality as you are thinking. It's about money. That's it. People are staring to see that now. Why don't you join the team and come on in for the big win?

Dumbass...

hagan714 04-05-2012 08:39 PM

not once did i hear money for hits.

i heard a coach losing it old school style. no place for that in today's nfl.

now to the game tape. sorry i did find players doing as ordered.

looks like in a court of law williams is guilty of trying to in site a riot. he failed.

no i want to here the niners tape

NOLA54 04-05-2012 08:57 PM

I understand that some of what Wiilams said was metaphoric in content & not meant to be taken literally. I'm just glad he is gone. Let's keep looking forward.

THANK YOU! That's the point I've been trying to make lately. If I tell my buddy "Hey, go beat that guy up and I'll give you $100" and he doesn't do it... Then by the NFL's logic my buddy is guilty because I offered money for him to do it. This is completely absurd and I'm really hoping we'll see some common sense from der Fuhrer when it comes to player punishment.

Why are you people responding to this alleged Whiner troll, I can't understand... and I say alleged, because this troll cannot be a fan of guys like Lott, or Haley, Dean, Rathmann (yes, Rathmann).. or even the Smiths (the ones who knock out Pierre Thomas with a hit to the head and yell "this is how we play football", or clip Jimmy Graham when he's mid-air so he falls on his head, and if you don't think that's on purpose, you just don't know what you are watching), nor know his HC very well....this troll cannot possibly have ever been on a locker room as a player of any contact sport...

This troll is either just doing the same thing the Florios and Kings of the world are doing, pretending nothing like this happens in the other 31 locker rooms when we know it happens; or really doesn't know, in which case, he can go get his education somewhere else.

Marlboro Man 04-05-2012 09:35 PM

I find it hard to believe that GW knew and let this guy tape that. Incredible.

No, ratchoke isn't a troll. He is a regular on a very well respected Niners site. Some of you may remember Tahoegirl that visited our site before the game last year. She is the administrator of the site. They are mostly class people. ratchoke is cool, but loves to debate. I've been known for doing the same ... as I am doing right now on their site. But, they are cool.

Audio. I am speechless.

OldMaid 04-06-2012 09:03 AM

To 49's ratchoke99. Read.
Try reading. Read this board and N.O. TP newspaper.
Saying people here are idiots and stupid prooves your imaturity.
You lose an argument when you call people names.

FOR THE UMTEETH TIME, no REAL SAINTS' fans, think and like and suppoort GW bounty thing.
To injure a player on purpose. End a career. Put someone in carted off, rolling on 4-wheels for life is NOT fun, funny or part of profootball.

Most frightening thing is when any player is out for a while, something happens and the game has to cut to commercials. Staff of coaches, doctors, and trainers from the injured player's team comes and God forbid it looks really bad when the other side comes out to tend to the down guy too.
Look at the worried faces of people. Cheers, cheers go up as if your team won a SB when the guy shows some movement of arms. Turns feet. Why does the player do this? To show everybody there, esp. though family and friends away watching that he is ok in that he can move his feet, arms. Ok. Thank God..
No one here supports GW for starting this bounty thing or keeping it going after NFL sent a leter out to all teams to stop that.
Leaving papers, an audio, being so I don't know what, was dumb.
Saints deserve a punishment. All of us Saints' fans agree on that.
The punishment was really severe.
Other teams have slippped under the radar even though they have said things on record and very recently. See Giants' thread.
Thank goodness for some kind of proof the Saints said this but never did this is that the Saints ' never NEVER injured anyone. They had no more , no less penalities than any other team. Saints were not a high ranking defense team.
Oh, yes, the Saints did injure an NFL star. Big name guy.
Had him carted off. Sent to the hospital for surgery the next day. He will never be the same. He will be able to detect rain coming with his pins and rods in his leg.
That person is Saint's Caoch Sean Payton.

UK_WhoDat 04-06-2012 01:21 PM

That indicates it is all Gregg Williams.

I wonder if his crap was the cause for such a poor Saints performance during the season. Maybe the guys were just not ready to play under a lunatic.

IDK, signing onto a board, picking a volatile thread and calling the members out with things like, "out of touch", "asnine", "ignorant and classless." isn't exactly looking for 'debate' or a 'healthy discussion' ... that's a stretch, even for a Niner fan ... just sayin' ... but if you say so AG.

He comes from a really cool site so I cut him slack, SloMo. Yes, the approach was clumsy, but he's been rational to a degree in his posts.

Well his attempt at rational here can best be described this way:

Dude, you have 0 likes so far, and thats hard to believe. Lots of other fans come on this board and don't agree with us, and do just fine. It might be your approach on a sore subject. This isn't the "Colston is the best WR" thread.
We are not happy about this, and most will defend this team until we see evidence to prove anyones involvement.

Saying Goodell said it won't wash in almost any teams forum in the NFL. Goodell is not liked by most fans universally.

Then instead of LEARNING from the mistake he made the first time HE DID IT AGAIN! I'm sorry but.....it just makes me so angry that Brees had 2 of his defining moments (you can't tell me that those last 2 TDs wouldn't have been on his HOF highlight reel) pissed away by his DC.

Yeah I remember vividly, I was at work running around like a maniac trying to get my work done and get back to where the big screen was to see the end of the game (I had to go in right at the start of the freaking fourth quarter) and was able to see us come back twice only to have stupid hair Williams brain fart away everything.

All of us, co-workers and customers alike just went dead silent in disbelief. It seemed like he wanted us to lose. Why else would you leave their ONLY good receiver one on one on TWO consecutive drives with the season on the line?

BoudinSandwich 04-07-2012 04:30 AM

I remember a similar speech from my little league soccer coach... and she was a woman.

Are all these people that are 'upset' about this really that clueless as to what actually goes on in defensive locker rooms in competitive sports?

Seriously, the worst thing about this speech is how insanely GENERIC it is.

Goodell? Isn't that he the guy who destroyed all the spygate 'evidence' so...uh hem...'other teams wouldn't see it'?

Yeah, I'm just going to blindly accept anything THAT guy says.
