Legislature calls on NFL to take another look at Saints' penalties

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This is a HUGE waste of time. For the debate, the media and for us now that we've read it. Their hearts are in the right place. But their brains are tucked away in an old shoe box....

Huge waste of time? It probably took less than five minutes. They read the resolution and vote. Bang, it's over.

And it is sending a message so it isn't a waste. It shows the state is united over this.

The NFL will likely scoff at it but I agree with Halo, with the SB in our backyard it could be a bad idea to ignore it. I just wish it had some meat in it:

Remember, the Superbowl is in Louisiana this year and the legislature can really mess with the NFL. If the governor and the legislature are on the same page, they can give Goodell and the NFL a fat juicy hard time
And then what, we don't see hosting another SB until im like 85.I don't think thats a good idea although I agree with the thought, but it holds no bering on the outcome.

Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with Halo. This could be something that can be leveraged down the road. But beyond even that, KEEP THE NOISE COMING. Do NOT simply give up.

All the hell that CAN be raised NEEDS to be raised, but any and everyone in a position to raise it. Roger Goodell MUST BE MADE TO SHOW HIS EVIDENCE. When that happens, the chips can then fall in whichever direction they fall, but he MUST show the Evidence.

This Wednesday when the NFLPA has their grievance heard, will that force Roger to show what evidence he has against Vilma and Smith or risk the suspensions revoked?
