Meachem's role was kind of one-dimensional and Nick Toon is more of a solid possession receiver that runs sharp routes. I don't think the two would play the same role. If anybody took Meachem's role it would probably be Joe Morgan. I could be totally wrong but that's just what popped into my head when I read the topic.

I don't think Meachem's role was one-dimensional at all. I think he was a pretty well rounded WR, just under-utilized due to the style of offense we ran. But I do agree that Joe Morgan is the "next man up" so to speak. He has shown he has the talent, now he just needs to show durability, consistency, continued development and improvement in the little things that separate potential from productivity. I personally think Joe is our next Lance Moore type WR, but on the outside instead of the slot. |
