Can somebody explain how this year's value is $40M, but he is only counting $18.6M towards the cap?
I love Drew as much as anybody, but I hope we didn't just shackle our financial flexibility to a QB who will be 39 in the final year of his contract. |

$40M in salary and signing bonus. Signing bonus is amortized through the length of the contract, so even if Drew gets all the cash today, the Saints write the bonus money off the salary cap in yearly installments.
