Re: Gleason bothered that “no one seemed shocked” by Gregg Williams’ pre-game rant
And the man whose ALS may have been caused by a career in football that entailed having his bell rung “hundreds” of times took exception to Williams’ directive to attack certain body parts of specific offensive players.
“[W]hen he specified the other players’ injuries, that to me, was over the line,” Gleason said in a rough cut of the show, which PFT obtained from HBO.
Sounds to me his agenda is the new coalition of former players suing the NFL for head injuries? I'm trying to understand why there is alarm over the incident and audio now because just months ago it was Gleason who DID NOT want the audio to be released and did his part to explain away its content.
As for Williams' comments, I mean come on. My little league football coach regularly directed me to "kill 'em" when referring to opponents, and described many situations where we should be "drinking blood."
From what I understand, compared to my brothers' coaches, mine was a cupcake.
