Get your point though Yes 10 games left, defense is getting better and we could go 10-6 or 9-7 and sneak into the playoffs. |

Re: So is the season still over from some...
I think the issue with the defense is that its expected to get better. Every report I've ever read said it takes a lot of time to master Spags zone defenses. Combine that with the fact we have DB's who have played man for the last 3 years converting to a zone scheme and it takes time, a lot of it.
But yeah, if this defense doesn't improve? No f'ing way we even sniff the playoffs. The optimist in me says our defense starts to get it over the next several games. |

Re: So is the season still over from some...
I'm seeing some hope for the defense. I've seen some extremely good run defense at times and then some terrible run defense. But, it' more good than bad right now. We'll make 4-5 good to great stops and then one will bust loose. We're seeing some improvement in the pass rush too but we need to see marked improvement from Robinson and White and if we want to get our run game untracked, we need to sit Ingram and activate Ivory and in my humble opinion, we're really going to need Ivory in this game against the Broncos. We need to show them a running game they've not seen from us to upset them.

Re: So is the season still over from some...
Hypothetical question for the thread that may put it in perspective: "With the Saints, Lions and Raiders at 2-4, who do you have more faith in to finish the season above .500 and/or make the playoffs?".
When the Saints were 0-4 and the Lions were 1-3, I thought about that ... would I rather put my money on an 0-4 Saints team or a 1-3 Lions team ... I went with the 0-4 Saints. There's just too much talent, leadership and experience on the Saints to ever count them out totally ... the season is over when Drew says it's over, eh? |

Re: So is the season still over from some...
Being 2-4 after starting 0-4, and having played the easiest portion of our schedule, I am not saying it is over, but it is touch and go. I take it week to week, game to game. We have the Giants, Broncos, Eagles, and Atlanta twice still. I think we have the 49ers too. I mean that is 6 tough games right there, we have to go 4-2 in those 6 and win every other game we have to make the playoffs. In my opinion anyway. If we can win tonight it is a huge help, but it is hard to win on the road and the Broncos are averaging a little more than 28 points a game. I think we need to score 30+ points to win tonight. We can have 0 mistakes. No turnovers and limit the penalties. Do all that and catch a break or two and we could get a win. Having won two games is just that- having won two games. Nothing more, nothing less. We have still lost 4. Still dropped 2 games to teams who beaten no one but us. We are facing an uphill battle, but we still have a chance. Game to game. 1 at a time. I hope we find a way to win tonight.
