At the Texas v. the World Game, many of the scouts present had to geaux and build scouting profiles on them...

Buddy that was there told me your "Tulane boy is gonna get alot of scouts fired for not having done there homework on this kid..."

He thinks he could geaux as high as early fourth round!

Actually, unless you went to games (wish Tulane would rebuild Tulane Stadium), everything here is LSU now...

But he's really starting to catch fire now...

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

Round 1 Trade!!!!!
Want Lane Johnson OT Oklahoma
Still up in the air here

Round 3
Wanted but gone
Barrett Jones C/G/OT Alabama
Kyle Long, OT/G, Oregon
Jamie Collins, OLB, Southern Miss
Corey Lemonier, OLB Auburn

Brandon Williams, NT, Missouri Southern St
Height: 6012
Weight: 335
Arm Length: 32 5/8
Hand Size: 9 3/4
40 time: 5.37
20
10: 1.79
SS 20:4.91
3 Cone: 8.09
Vert: 29" 1/2
Broad: 8" 06"
Bench: 38
a mammoth 335 pound 3-4 nose tackle. a bit on the raw side, but plays with good leverage and power. lets be honest if Tampa and Panthers do address DT by this point he will not be on the board. But Bunk is signed for the next few years so we have time to develop.

Option
Robert Alford, CB, SE Lousiana:
Brian Schwenke, C, California
Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State
Kiko Alonso, ILB, Oregon

Bonehead Red Flag Special
Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU: quitting and betting

I love but Pass on Ryan Swope multi concussion history

Round 4

Annual medical flier

Chris Faulk, OT, LSU
Bench: 25
Faulk ranked among the top offensive tackles in the country. season-ending torn ACL suffered in practice following the 2012 season opener. required separate surgeries a month apart on his medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews has given Faulk the "no red flags"
Dr. James “He’s the man.” Andrews
The patients list: Brett Favre, Charles Barkley, Jack Nicklaus, Donovan McNabb, Drew Brees, Dwyane Wade, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz just to name a few

Option
Cornelius Washington, DE/OLB Georgia
David Quessenberry, C/G/OT, San Jose State
Sanders Commings CB Georgia
Reid Fragel OT Ohio St
Dion Sims, TE Michigan State

Round 5

Ty Powell OLB/DE Harding
Height: 6021
Weight: 249
Arm Length: 32.48
Hand Size: 9 3/4
40 time: 4.64
20 split
10 split 1.59
SS 20 4.40
3 Cone: 6.98
Vert: 37.0
Broad: 122
Bench: 28

Powell has played defensive end, safety and now linebacker that versatility works well in a 3-4 defense. He has exceptional ball skills. A high motor player that shows excellent football IQ. Big gamble with a very high reward possible.

Option
Michael Williams, TE/OT, Alabama
Corey Fuller, WR Virgina Tech
William Gholston DE Michigan State
Aaron Mellette WR Elon

Victor Butler signing would change this pick

Annual medical flier
Brennan Williams, OT, North Carolina
Starting potential at right tackle could be a great value pick

Round 6
still up in the air on this one too
Man this and round 7 are loaded with solid depth players. just to name a few.

Kwame Geathers DE/NT Georgia
Manase Foketi OT West Texas A&M
T.J. Barnes, NT, Georgia Tech
Ricky Wagner ROT Wisconsin
A.J. Klein, ILB, Iowa State
Brandon Moore, DT, Texas
Josh Boyd, DT, Mississippi St.
Josh Boyd QB Duke
Ryan Griffin QB Tulane
Cooper Taylor - SS/OLB - Richmond
Nathan Stanley, QB, Southeastern Louisiana
Rod Sweeting, CB, Georgia Tech

If the Saints do trade down getting multi picks in 5 and 6 as part of the package seems to be a smart move at this time

I'd like Ogletree, but if we trade out of the first, I'd want a Round 2 pick this year and trading partner's Round 1 pick next year; send Ivory, Harper to offset compensation...

In any trade scenario, I'd want to maximize Second and Third Round Picks in this year's draft because of the nature of the abundance of second tier talent...

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

Draft Strategy:

Right now with limited salary cap room and needs still at OT, OLB, DE, DB, the Saints front office should consider moving back in the draft to gain some more picks...

They've been awful with their first round picks under the Loomis regime with very few exceptions...

I'd look for a scenario where Saints acquire second and third round picks for our first round and fifth round picks or where...

Saints acquire second, third and seventh round picks for our first round and move Ivory or Harper to teams needing either RB or SS...

Potential Trading Partners Arizona, NY Jets who are in need of a power running back and Tennessee where Gregg Williams would love to have Harper back...

Saints would need to restructure Harper's contract to minimize the hit on this season's salary cap prior to trade...

Also, should the Saints sign Asomugha, they could trade Greer a very good defensive back for a second/third round pick to a team in need of CB like Dallas, Buffalo, and Oakland...

The Titans already signed Pollard who plays a fairly similar game as a safety as Harper does, so I'm not so sure the Titans would be willing to make a trade for Harper.

That's a good point, maybe Dennis Allen of Oakland wants Harper back?

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

i think we will see harper here till the end of his contract. the saints show loyalty to almost a fault.

I am still hoping one of the top OG drops into our laps in the draft. I think that is the most obvious chance to get the phones ringing. Any team looking at OG and there are plenty within striking distance to jump ahead of the Rams who are pegged to snap that OG up. So many teams in the top 25 have the same shopping list as the rams. well according to the media lol

then we can talk about possible players involved.
