Saints/Bengals Trade Scenario

Saints trade rights to RB Chris Ivory and pick R1(15)

for

Bengals' picks R2 (37), R2 (53), and R6 (190)

2013 Saint's Draft Mock (MensAjeros)

[Updated 2013/04/03]

2.05 (37) LB Alec Ogletree, Georgia*

R2 Forfeit

2.21 (53) OL Barrett Jones, Bama

3.13 (75) LB Jaime Collins, So. Miss*

3.22 (86) OL Jordan Mills, Louisiana Tech

4.12 (109) LB Chase Thomas, Stanford

5.11 (144) DE Bennie Logan, LSU

6.15 (183) DT Kwame Geathers, Georgia

*Ogletree is currently trending at an average of 38th overall (He's a First Rounder To Me); if Ogletree isn't there as he shouldn't be, I'd select 2.05 (37) CB Jamar Taylor, Boise State

If we go from pick 15 to pick 37, we better get back more then that.

1(31) DL Jesse Williams (I'd love to have Ogletree but can't imagine him falling this far)
2(61) S Jonathan Cyprien (NFL Network said Jarvis Jones could get pushed out of the first, I'd take him if still available)
3(75) OLB Jamie Collins
3(93) OL Barrett Jones (Good players get pushed down when GMs try to outthink the room)
4(109) OT Jordan Mills
5(144) CB Tharold Simon
6(183) NT Kwame Geathersr

I think there might be five starters in this group and all, in my opinion, would be able to contribute in year one.

Going by your scenario, I'd go.....

1(31) Desmond Trufant
2(61) Alex Okafor
3(75) Brandon Williams
3(93) Barrett Jones
4(109) Zeke Motta
5(144) Cobi Hamilton
6(183) Dustin Hopkins

Two Round two picks, and a round 3 pick for backing up twenty two spots?

And considering our salary cap commitments?

And the pending Graham commitment?

And our needs at Left Tackle and 3-4 Defense commitment?

Oh, and our inability to select an impact first round pick?

I didnt see a 3rd rounder. What I saw was two 2nd and a 6th which isnt enough. Now if its two 2nd rounders and a 3rd hell yeah I'd do it.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

These extra picks come from the trade with the 49ers I talked about earlier.

4(109) OT Chris Faulk (I had Jordan Mills here, but he probably won't last this long. Voodooido and others have been pushing Faulk hard and I'm sold)
5(144) Kenjon Barner (Darren Sproles, Jr.)
6(183) NT Kwame Geathers

We can shore up the D-Line, help the LB corps, help the secondary, shore up the O-Line, and get a playmaker on offense.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

I understand the criticism that he's expecting the ball...

...but the fact that he (1) has excellent measurables, (2) catches the ball, (3) has terrific bulk will make him an excellent draft choice...
