It's easy for the most ill-informed to suggest restructuring his freshly minted deal, along with the others proclaiming how they'd offer various FA talents vet minimum with a "heavily incentive laden contract." I've seen dozens of posts hollerin "Just pay the man whatever he wants." during negotiations with Brees. I couldn't disagree, considering the value of Brees to this franchise. Simple fact is that the Saints had no choice if they'd like to see the promised land again over the next 3 years. We really can't compete for any D FA studs due to this deal. Players and depth will be lost, yet we likely can't get another franchise QB anytime soon. I simply cannot hate on any NFL player getting all they can while the gettin's good. The next snap may easily be their last.
