this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If we went 13-3 and did\'nt make the playoffs, but I don\'t think thats going to happen. I for one think Haz is a good coach and I hope the Saint\'s do very well this year....

Poll on Haslett?
I gave this some thought and makeing the play offs is a job keeper and a raise. just missing it again I\'d have to say its time to change the staff all coordinators are gone. If he agrees then he can stay on if not then he goes as well... its hard to let him go and change things when we have gained so much talent by him. We have at least one good thing going in NO lets at least try and keep that and make other changes to correct the course we are going... cleaning house isn\'t what is needed.

Poll on Haslett?
My patience is thin, regardless, and will continue to be until we win it all. My desire for a Super Bowl supersedes any individual player or coach...even Deuce. |

Poll on Haslett?
Here\'s my take.
First: You have to draw the line some where. You\'ve got to have some kind of plan to achieve success. And you\'ve got to have some kind of plan if that doesn\'t happen. Second: You can\'t say those plans are set in concrete. Things do happen that are out of control of the coach. It would be foolish to be so closed minded to fire Haslett because Deuce and Brooks got hurt in the first game. Third: This upcoming season shouldn\'t be the only thing Haslett is judged by. He\'s got a 4 year track record in New Orleans. IMO, Haslett has regressed. Injuries can\'t be used for the last 3 years. And the problems the Saints have go WAY beyond injuries. It goes to the heart of Haslett\'s coaching ability and the decisions he\'s made. Decisions like keeping Rick Venturi. His decision to be inconsistent in his coaching style. Bottom Line: Haslett has made his bed. It\'s up to him to make sure he can sleep in it next year. Injuries have nothing to do with it. There could be a case where I voted to keep Haslett but it\'s not likely. [Edited on 27/8/2004 by GumboBC] |

Poll on Haslett?
Five years is plenty of time to show ho good you are. One playoff win in 5 years is not sufficient.
Like Dr, Frankenstein, Haslet has built a mean machine...he just can\'t control it. |

Poll on Haslett?
they r a young team and i still love the moves they keep making towards the future. devery will eventually replace horn if donte stays healthy. maybe its the other way around but u get my point. worried about spending to much for howard next year they get smith. i love all that. shipping **** head williams to miami and grabbing to number 1 picks for it was brilliant. especially since he was inherited. getting rid of carter who was always hurt n then u find out hes got something wrong with his lungs. getting rid of joe johnson who has done nothing since leaving is beautiful. i love the moves but i hate the constant b.s. thats been going on for years. yes they r young. but at some point the coaches have to get them to play more consistently. i love jim haslett as a coach. i love the move towards discipline. n i love that all the guys have bought into it. i love that arron and deuce said something after green bay about dropped balls. good. but **** lets see it on the field. damn if we play to our talent we can really push towards the super bowl. at least take a step towards it this year. no i dont want to see him leave at all. but **** if everything is the same this year at what point do u say something has to give. n im not talking about wins and losses. im talking about the mistakes.

Poll on Haslett?
It\'s rare that I make my opinion known on the board but.... Since the question was asked. As a fan of this team since the beginning of time(at least for this team) I\'d say get rid of them all! I like Haz but if it doesn\'t happen this year (at least DEEP into the playoffs) Get rid of everyone and get someone that can. We\'ve been waiting long enough. It\'sc time to start a new tradition!

Good to see that 08\'s \"conspiracy theories\" seem to have some real merit. |
