Re: SOURCE - SAINTS HIRE RYAN AS DC
Saints hired Rob Ryan as their new defensive coordinator.
Ryan's name first appeared on the Saints' DC radar as a potential candidate earlier this week after he had briefly flirted with DC vacancy. Ryan faces the tall task of turning around the league's 32nd ranked defense in 2012. The Saints will transition to a 3-4 under Ryan, and will almost certainly have to revamp their front-seven personelle to fit the system change. Source: Jay Glazer on Twitter |

Let's face it.
Ryan did a good job in 2 years at Dallas despite challenges. I like hiring a coach with a lot left to prove. From players to coaches - This is Payton's M.O. |

Well anyone think he will make us worse than last year? Lets hope he does an outstanding job. GW and Spags were highly regarded and did not work out. Maybe its the players and not the coaching.

Bright side - we have champions on this roster with a chip on their shoulders. |

Re: SAINTS HIRE RYAN AS DC
Brees is the playmaker on offense. who is the playmaker on D. There is a need to have that one disruptive player to go along with solid players to make a difference. We have not had that since Sharper. God forbid, Brees goes down, and our O will suck as bad as our D. Now How do we fix this without any $$$ to spend. The better players are going to be Tagged $$$$$$ and you never no what you are going to get via draft. We have tried to fix our D bringing in players that were done or cheap, and expected them to be coached up. The better Defenses have good coaching and more importantly Good players.

Spags was not playing the defense to it's strengths. Someone here said it best - Square peg, round hole. |

Looking at our team, I can see Martez Wilson taking that Pat Swilling, Renaldo Turnbull position. I can see Hicks and Bunkley at the nose, Cam Jordan at RDE and a draft pick at LDE. I can see Galette at Ricky Jackson's old spot backed up by Cassillas. Lofton, I can see at Vaughn Johnsons old spot with Vilma taking Sam Mills old spot. That's not a bad defense on paper. Move Jenkins to SS, Quddus to FS and we're starting to look pretty good on defense. We need to draft a top CB in this draft that's big, like 6'1" or 6'2" and get Robinson outta there. He's just terrible and I've been saying it for 2 years. Greer is still serviceable but if we can get 2 CB's in this draft we'd have one to push Greer and groom for the future. While we're getting our young CB's up to speed, we need to have that pass rush to help them out. With this lineup, I think we can do it. ![]() |

Ryan is crude, vulgar and nasty looking. They sure didn't seem to prosper under his tutelage. I hate this.
