Jarvis Jones at 15??

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If it were a degenerative problem in his spine, I wouldn't want him. I'm confident no one would even draft him if that were the case. But this is a nerve problem, related to lack of space in the spine. ...

If it were a degenerative problem in his spine, I wouldn't want him. I'm confident no one would even draft him if that were the case. But this is a nerve problem, related to lack of space in the spine. If he were to have the surgery and come through successfully, then I don't see any reason why he wouldn't have a long career. Or at the very least, be able to have 6-8 good years. He would simply be subject to the same risk as any other player.

He'd be worth it for that amount of time. But considering he's already waited this long, I'm not sure what teams are gonna think about him.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Still a projected top 10 pick. But if he's there, he's hard to pass up at 15. I'm honestly not concerned with his medical issues.

IIRC didn't Vilma have some sort of degenerative knee issue from College?

I don't know if he had it from college but he has a problem with dead bone or tissue in his knee.

Jones condition can be quite severe, remember that big OL guy for the redskin that had the same thing? The guy wore a huge ol neck-roll thingy and could hardly move in the end.

Are you thinking of Marcus McNeil of the Chargers? I know he had it coming out of Auburn. I think it finally ended his career.

That is a very hard one to say and it is always a gamble in the draft. I say pull the damn trigger, yes we go for it.

Man, eight ifs (nine if you count -ahh ten... +3) already in this short little thread. Spinal surgery is the least certain of all except maybe brain stuff and that's for civilians. Add in massive contact at the pro level? Him not doing any worse than most of our first rounders even from a hospital bed doesn't really do me. That dude should go on into the doctor, lawyer, teacher thing. I really don't want to see him being carted off the field in black and gold after a forty minute game time delay.

Re: Jarvis Jones at 15??

are you kidding me???

would you take him...

You would be crazy not to take this guy. We have to hope that there are enough GMs to shy away from him. He should be a top5 pick, and there is no way he makes it out of the top 10.

Re: Jarvis Jones at 15??

Where did anyone get spinal surgery?? Spinal Stenosis is a fancy medical term for Arthritis in the back. I know this because I have it along with a long list of other back issues. There is no surgical fix for this.

We would be crazy not to snatch this guy up. Will he play 10 yrs in the NFL, probably not. His back condition will get worse as he gets older. But for right now, he'd be a steal at 15!
