You're exactly right, we need youth and stamina for four quarters, plus... And he's a one trick pony defensive end which is slightly better than Will Smith who just kinda stretches and lays there... |

Re: John Abraham may visit Saints
Wow, couldn't be a guy I was less interested in. He is done when it comes to the game and he's probably one of the most incoherent individuals I've ever heard.

Re: John Abraham may visit Saints
If he's lost a step, yet still recorded 10 sacks like he did last year, I say give him a nice little 2 year deal. l guess nobody remembers him being the only player terrorizing Brees on the Falcons D the past several years.

I don't remember that at all. We've handled him OK for the last several years.

Re: John Abraham may visit Saints
Also remember....Falcons played one of, if not the, easiest schedule in the NFL last season....I wouldn't put much stock in those sacks. ANd he's HORRIBLE against the read option. He's old and injury prone.....no thanks.

Re: John Abraham may visit Saints
why not? We signed Darren Sharper when he was that age. If he's not better then what we've already got you're fooling yourself. It doesn't matter if he's horrible with the option. The rest of the D is horrible at everything. Nobody is saying break the bank on him, but if he wants to come end his career with a ring I believe he's a good veteran leader and upgrade. Its 2 years. Not the 5 we just gave Drew, who is practically just as old.

All true what im hearing. Hes old . Stays hurt, but his name always gets called more than will smith.barring he has to make the team and he takes vet min. For a season . Let it roll and thats all he would be there for is a situation player.

Brees' situation with the Chargers is known by all of us, so there's no need to go over it again here, but I'd like to point out that he didn't have a history filled with injuries before the infamous shoulder injury, the surgery was done by the best in the business, and he passed the medicals before signing with the Saints. From what I've gathered, Abrahams doesn't have the same type of character as Brees does when it comes to training and keeping himself in peak condition to avoid future injuries, so them being about the same age isn't really anything I'd consider as a favorable comparison to Abrahams. Anyway, he might be a good veteran presence at vet minimum (I'm doubtful), but I'd prefer that roster spot to be filled by a young player who could be a future contributor in the black and gold. |
