Albert has been unhappy there and wasn't even seeking a contract with the Chiefs according to some reports before the tag deadline, so it would be only logical that the Chiefs are looking for a long term replacement for him instead of spending absurd amounts of cap to tag Albert to stay with the team once again next year.

If an OT is good enough to be picked high in the 1st round, a team even considering that position to be one of need should jump on that OT without a seconds notice. Minnesota did just that with Matt Kalil last year, and now they have an elite LT under contract for little under $5/yr average. Seeing as Bushrod just got a contract with $7.2M/yr average and Kalil being a far superior talent to him - it's not difficult to see where the benefit lies in drafting a player high in that position.

Jeff George and Ryan Leaf stayed on his O-lineman's asses too.
Maybe that's your opinion and he just sucks

So that means every player on the team sucks?

Thats extremely shortsighted.

It's my opinion, I remember you bashing people on another thread for their opinion, looks like you're doing it again. Yes I do believe with the exception of a handful of players the majority of that team sucks.

Being shortsighted may apply to you as well, my opinion.

He had a pretty good season in New England before going to KC...

And Albert has said he won't move inside to guard or play right tackle where both previous and current KC regimes feel he's better suited...

But Matt Cassel spent alot of time on his @$$ and Albert was supposed to be the guy protecting him...

KC always wants Boardwalk rent for Cannery Row accommodations; wait till they release him and sign him as a Right Tackle...

JP you forgot one thing, the price tag for this guy is way too high, other than that I agree with you 100%, well said.

Albert would be a great solution for the LT, IMO, but it's not a realistic solution because of the financial implications involved.
So do you think it would be better to draft one or pick up one on the open market, it's a important position that has to be addressed? After the center from Chi-town didn't work out at all, I'm a little skeptic but DLP came in and has played well.

In the rest of the league, the LT make more than the other linemen and I was thinking that but just didn't post it and you're right we don't have the room for another 6+ mil/annum lineman that's not playing TE...
