Well that certainly brings a new dimension into the discussion.

At that price, I'm much less interested.

But isn't that the franchise tag number? The tag can be lifted, if he hasn't signed it, and then we can negotiate, right?

The franchise tag period passed, so he would be a FA now if he had not signed it.

He signed it 4 days ago.
Kansas City Chiefs to move forward with Branden Albert - ESPN

So regardless of whether it was a FT or not, he is under contract. And that is luggage. From what I am reading the FT is looked at as salary and the new team takes the hit in a trade.
