How can you even begin to equate that with what I mentioned? That makes no sense. |

If you're not going to draft a guy because he's got or has had problems, then you shouldn't keep a player based on that criteria either... |

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
SAINTS DEPTH CHART - 2013 53 Man Roster Max Day
OFFENSE QB (2) Drew Brees, Luke McCown (FA) Surprised we didn't keep Ryan Griffin... RB (5) Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles, Mark Ingram, Khiry Robinson (UDFA), Travaris Cadet We kept five RB's? One of each missed the Miami trip with no explanation?!? FB (1) Jed Collins And he's the backup LS too! WR (2) Marques Colston, Nick Toon Only two tall WR's, but there really good ones... LT (2) Charles Brown, Terron Armstead (R3) Lunestra and Ambien anyone?!? Come on Terron, WIN/OWN the job... LG (1) Ben Grubbs Expected Olsen to back him up, but injury has left an opportunity OC (1) Brian De La Puente No change RG (2) Jahri Evans, Tim Lelito (UDFA) Good for Tim; you can learn much from Master Jahri RT (2) Zach Strief, Bryce Harris (FA) Solid, not spectacular, but solid... TE (3) Jimmy Graham, Benjamin Watson (FA), Josh Hill (UDFA) Really liked Hill when we were discussing UDFA candidates; I think we've got the best TE corps in the league... WR (3) Lance Moore, Kenny Stills (R5), Andy Tanner Great surprises here; Stills looks to be a steal in the 5th round; Tanner jerseys will be the hottest seller this year... DEFENSE DE3 (2) Akiem Hicks, Glenn Foster (UDFA) Probably the best turnaround at a position with amazing depth; the guys should stay fresh AND have a Big Impact... NT (2) Brodrick Bunkley, John Jenkins (R3) Drew may be the man, but these guys will be ALL MAN; great 34 anchors... DE5 (3) Cameron Jordan, Tyrunn Walker, Tom Johnson Cam Jordan is back in the familiar 34 DE position; the Dline has great flexibility this year; Walker could even slide to the NT if necessary; Tom Johnson should get healthy and stronger... SAM (2) Parys Haralton, Martez Wilson Would rather see Martez inside, but SOMEBODY has to play OLB and get some heat on the corners... MIKE (2) Curtis Lofton, Ramon Humber, Kevin Reddick (UDFA) Lofton mans the middle and Humber really came on in the preseason; Reddick gets an opportunity to tutelage among some real vets and develop into something special... WILL (3) David Hawthorne, Will Herring, Jon Vilma Didn't see bringing all three back, but that's exactly what happened; happy for Herring who's been a consumate pro and may see some time at OLB... JACK (1) Junior Galette Junior, this is your time; and it's all your time as we've got no one behind you?!? CB (3) Jabari Greer, Corey White, Rod Sweeting (UDFA) Really like our corners; White could (should) be playing safety; excited for Sweeting and he's got some good size... SS (2) Kenny Vaccaro (R1), Roman Harper Vaccaro looks to prove the Saints FO right in drafting him; Harper should hone his special teams skills FS (3) Malcolm Jenkins, Rafael Bush, Isa Abdul-Quddus Contract year for Jenkins is coming; Bush makes the "25" jersey popular; AQ is great depth... CB (2) Keenan Lewis, Patrick Robinson Maybe Lewis can help Robinson get things turned around... KICKING PK (1) Garrett Hartley Sean Payton must have some guru fix on Hartley... P (1) Thomas Morstead Best punter in the game... LS (1) Justin Drescher, Jed Collins Justin, Enjoy the ride to winning the SuperBowl! H Thomas Morstead PR Darren Sproles, Lance Moore KR Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas KO Thomas Morstead, Garrett Hartley Reserved, Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) Victor Butler (FA) Reserved, Injured (IR) DE Kenyon Coleman (FA) CB AJ Davis (FA) WR Chris Givens (FA) LB Chris Chamberlain WR Joseph Morgan DE Will Smith Eric Olsen KEY: POS (#Likely Slots) Starter Additions (Acquired Via) Injured PUP/Physically Unable to Perform/Injured Reserve |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Pena could start developing now to play behind Jenkins as Bunkley will probably be gone after next season's salary purge; he'd be a good one with his size to anchor the 34 and spell Jenkins... Ty Powell, OLB, Harding University, by way of Seattle, who was already loaded when they drafted this guy late - probably to keep him from another team; as we've learned, when you have a good team, 53 spots disappear fast; this should have been the pick in Round 6... Absolutely love Cody Davis, and with some faster pace NFL experience, he's be better than Harper is now... I'd also add... Dontay Moch, OLB, Nevada, by way of Cincinnati He's got all the ideal measurable physical traits; injured his foot Rookie season; got desperate and was busted for a PED positive test violation in his sophomore campaign with the Bengals; he's a case of being a 34 OLB playing at a 43 DE poisition and just needs reps... And if we can somehow keep him, Ryan Griffin I just would like to know what limitations Chase Thomas presented; he's a classic case of limited measurables, but come game day, the man can play and produce... |
