Loomis is the one who should justify Ingram's cost.

Ingram was a very late 1st rounder. Its not Ingram's fault the Saints paid more than the 28th pick to acquire him.
You're right that the culpability falls to Loomis for selecting Ingram in the first round; I've posted that before and couldn't agree any more than I have...

Now the decisions for starting and playing time, regarding one player over another, should be independent of how a player arrived to a roster - we've both lauded Coach Payton that he trends that way and what makes him respected by players.

But you're kidding yourself if you don't think that first round selections and their production and impact are not and should not be held to a higher standard than players selected in later rounds or undrafted rookie free agents...

And the coaching staff has as much blame in Ingram's stunted development and impact for failing to get him the touches and the rhythm necessary for him to be the impact back he was selected to be...

My argument is that those opportunities should be there for him this season and it's on him to make the most of them...

I would even argue that Charles Brown is a potential busted pick if he fails to secure the starting left tackle job based on his time on this team AND the pick that was invested to select him...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I'm sure liking how the DL is shaping up. Still a little concerned with the OL though.

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013

Outside Linebacker, Left Tackle, Right Tackle, Kicker are what I consider our biggest concerns...

Though I feel slightly better about Outside Linebacker than I did since Free Agency, Draft, Rookie Free Agency...

Not seeing Galette having the speed/agility set to play the Jack LBer 3-4 Pro Formation...

Yeah, that's pretty much what the article read here as well...

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013

Offseason can be torture, especially after the season we've had...

Well, we get another ration of water in the Offseason Desert starting today...

May 28-30: Organized Team Activity Session 2 (Voluntary)

June 4-6: Minicamp (Mandatory)

June 10-13: Organized Team Activity Session 3 (Voluntary)

July ~24: Training Camp

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013

Understanding Coach Payton's Comments regarding the depth chart being fluid, dynamic - the biggest area of concern has to be at the Tackle positions, especially at Left Tackle...

The only scenario I can see us getting a quality, proven Left Tackle would be a trade and the Rams have the only "expendable" Left Tackle...

The best case scenario would involve the unlikely task of selling the Rams on Will Smith who clearly doesn't fit the new 3-4 scheme being installed; and would give us some salary cap relief which same salary probably precludes trading him...

Another other option would be to trade a WR to the WR-poor Rams. And the only proven commodities on the roster is Franchise's Best Marques Colston, which would be an anathema...

That leaves an unlikely trade of sure-handed Lance Moore (though Moore would make for an attractive bargaining chip); the only way Moore becomes available is if Morgan, Toon and Stills ALL step up in the offseason...

Stills would be the key as he's the most comparable receiver to Moore; his route running and speed are already there, but it is the hands that are still the question mark...

Toon's size lends him to being a candidate as a Colston successor...

Morgan appears to be Devery Henderson's successor...

So it'll be a wait and see if Jason Smith can step up in the off-season as Charles Brown seems condemned to NFL Injury List Purgatory...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
