SAINTS DEPTH CHART - 2013

DEFENSE

This is where I think we really are now in our new 3-4...

DE Cameron Jordan, Kenyon Coleman

NT Brodrick Bunkley, Akiem Hicks

DE Will Smith, Jay Richardson

JLB Martez Wilson, Junior Galette, Braylon Broughton

SLB David Hawthorne, Will Herring, Chris Chamberlain

MLB Curtis Lofton, Austin Johnson, Ramon Humber

WLB Jon Vilma, Victor Butler, Greg Romeus

CB Jabari Greer, Corey White

FS Malcolm Jenkins, Rafael Bush, Jerico Nelson

SS Roman Harper, Isa Abdul-Quddus

CB Keenan Lewis, Patrick Robinson

*Key Additions

First, we should sign DE Richard Seymour...

Second, move 4-3 DE Will Smith to a squad that he's better suited...

Third, bring an end to the Nnamdi Nonsense, sign 'em or move on; we've the leverage because the 49ers have him in a share with CB Carlos Rodgers...

Fourth, this will allow us to target any position on defense for the next two NFL Drafts...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013

RDE Cameron Jordan, Tom Johnson, Will Smith
LDE Akiem Hicks, Kenyon Coleman, Tyrunn Walker
NT Brodrick Bunkley, TBD

WOLB Junior Galette, Martez Wilson
WILB David Hawthorne, Jon Vilma
SILB Curtis Lofton
SOLB Victor Butler

Several of these guys could play multiple positions though. Martez could easily play all 4. Hawthorne can play all but Jack, Galette and Butler could play both OLB's.

CB Patrick Robinson, Jabari Greer (NB)
CB Keenan Lewis, Corey White

FS Malcolm Jenkins, Isa Abdul-Quddus
SS Roman Harper

Could this be the defensive scheme that allows him to move back to the middle at times and see if his old college position suites him best? he played a 34 in college

This poor guy has been bounced all around and forced to learn so mant different positions and schemes since he has been drafted. I am sure anytime he could get in the middle will give him the warm fuzzies.
Martez Wilson sorry

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013

I would like to see Hicks find a spot in the starting lineup at one point this season. I still think Smith starts at one of the end positions. Greer and Robinson fight it out in August for the other corner spot. I'm sure the team wants PRob to win out there. They would hate to see another first round pick go by the waste side.

I've read that Hicks will probably be opposite Jordan as one of the defensive ends; don't see how we don't acquire another DL capable of NT and/or DE...

True, all we need is a stop-gap vet to spell Bunkley. We may even wait untill the final cuts to pick one up on the cheap.

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013

The Depth Chart of the Defense will probably not be known until near end of Camp.

I am going to assume that Ryan has an idea but also has some changes for certain personnel and has discussed it with them. Then there is the whole who we will get in the draft.

EG:

You..you.. and you... Put on 15lbs I have different roles for you
you.. you lose 10 lbs, I will need you to speed up a little.

All of yous, learn to tackle.

I'd mocked the Georgia Tech kid in the Fifth to B/U Bunkley and learn the job...

But we're probably looking at mid-training camp till we have out rotation...
