Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
Roster Priorities:
Left Tackle - Charlie Brown is our current Starting Left Tackle. Reserve Quarterback - No Left Tackle AND No Reserve Quarterback is like going to St. Gabriel every weekend for conjugal visits without prophylactic polymers... Defensive End - Cam Jordan backed up by Kenyon Coleman is fine on one side; sliding Akiem Hicks to the other end is fine, but depth is a concern behind Hicks and Bunkley. Linebacker - Lofton and Hawthorn should offer two quality starters who will get their jobs done if they stay healthy; Vilma will be great for passing downs; Martez Wilson is listed as a SAM Backer, but could be moved to the JACK if he can develop the pass rush moves; Herring and Chamberlain should offer affordable depth and matchup flexibility. Not at all sold on Will Smith or Junior Galette playing the JackBacker or any linebacker for that matter, they will be too slow and will force us to commit one safety, (OMG) like Harper to assist - shades of last season even with a 3-4 and Other Kid as Defensive Coordinator... Safety - these two knuckleheads are as responsible as anyone for YAC which we were atrocious; Jenkins is more of a strong safety or press cornerback; Harper, well, he can rush the QB and if the other team sees him there, well, we will have showed our hand so he's a waste of space. Wide Receiver - Joe Morgan has made some highlights, but I'm concerned about depth at this position; really believe we'll miss Devery more than we know; I would not have made this statement three years ago, but he's really developed into a veteran pro; can we still develop receivers is the question... |

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
ok lets have some fun here.
At draft time this was the over all sentiment about him : Many scouts now view him as an outside linebacker, who in time, could slide back inside depending upon the defensive scheme. Projected a 43 SLB by most. Could this be the defensive scheme that allows him to move back to the middle at times and see if his old college position suites him best? he played a 34 in college This poor guy has been bounced all around and forced to learn so mant different positions and schemes since he has been drafted. I am sure anytime he could get in the middle will give him the warm fuzzies. |
