Drew Brees might’ve spilled beans on Chris Ivory trade

Drew Brees: Super Bowl winning quarterback, restauranteur, and … scoopster? It appears to be the case.

During a video interview with NOLA.com, Brees presumably let the cat out of the bag, quasi-confirming that the Saints have traded running back Chris Ivory to the Jets.

“I’ve heard [the trade] has happened, with the Jets,” he said, before backpedaling. “But I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t read it anywhere, I just kind of heard it.”

Rumors connecting Ivory to the Jets have run rampant following the 25-year-old’s visit to the Big Apple earlier this month. On Tuesday, Saints GM Mickey Loomis admitted Ivory is indeed on the trade block, but that no deal is imminent.

New Orleans is reportedly intent on receiving a fourth-round pick in return for the bruising back, whereas Gang Green supposedly only wants to surrender a fifth. The Jets are Ivory’s only known suitor.

But for what? What would the true value be in picking 2 spots earlier when so many players grade out prety much the same. Unless of course its a guy we really really want and think will be gone by 15 by not by 13.

Jump the Panthers for Star

Swap the 15th Ivory + late future for Lane Johnson if he falls to the Jets 9th.

how about send harper and keep that future pick or at least reduce it? it also would clear the cap issues we have this year and next.

Hagan's ideal is great I wish I could see that happen not sure why they have not done something to get rid of Harper and his big hit on the cap. Unless he has agree to a big reduction already.

The Jets need help at Safety so Ryan might like a blitzing safety if he agrees a restructured deal.

By later pick I was talking 4/5th.

We have Leonard and can draft Cyprian/McDonald/Rambo
Or the option would be there to sign Charles Woodson with the cap space saved

How much of an upgrade would Woodson really be once we figure in the salary he'd be asking for?
