I'd say the defense has to be better because it couldn't get any worse but I've been a Saints fan too long to say something like that. And hopefully we finally found somebody who can play safety.

One thing that has me worried is that the NFC has gotten really tough over the last two years. S.F, Seattle,G.B, N.Y. and Atlanta (excuse while I throw up in my mouth just a little bit) have really turned it on. Of course once the playoffs start you count the Falcons out.

So before I forget what I came here to say, I'm calling it. We go 11-5, take the South and get one of the byes. I'd like to say we take the #1 seed, and think we could, but that's going to be a tall order.

What do the rest of you think? None of this nambypamby "I'll wait to see how they look in pre-season" stuff. What do you think right now?

With the way the NFC is looking 11-5 May just barely get you a wild card. We will be better, but I think the playoffs are a little ambitious. I think we will have a winning seasin with around 10 wins. Lots of competition this Year. Hell our division alone is gonna be tough as hell.

When has it ever been a cake walk?...It's always a battle for us, our offense is up there with the best of them if not the best and when they are firing on all cylinders I dont care who's on the other side we can't be stopped. I think thats what payton is going to bring back the consistent production with everybody playing at their best. I do have us winning the division this year @ 12-4

Yeah but it's going to be tough for everyone. S.F. and Sea. are going to have a hard winning 11-12 games because they're in a tough division. Wash, Dal and NY are all fairly evenly matched and none of them are particularly good so I wouldn't be surprised to see 10-6 take that division. I don't see anybody really challenging G.B. for the North so I'd say they have the inside track for the 1 seed.

Maybe I'm a homer but I think Payton resumes his total domination over the Falcons. He just has their number.
