To me we should abandon the 3-4 this year and go back to a 4-3 with Foster in the DL lineup. Since we are hurting so bad at LB going back to 3 LB might make some sense.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Re: Curtis Lofton

Lofton isn't very fast, and a liability in coverage; but he's smart and flies to the ball. He has a high motor, and he's a leader. Hawthorne has looked better, but we have to play players to their strengths and mask their weaknesses. Everybody has weaknesses. Patrick Willis isn't great in pass coverage either.

Drew Bree's can't punt.... We try to keep him out of that situation

Hey I was all for a 3-4 defense but let's face it we just don't have the LBs and now we have all this talent on the front line. It makes total sense.

Why is that insane?

Because we brought in a coordinator who is 3-4?!

And if you always jump back to the comfort zone every-time you face a little toughness, nothing changes...

Yeah but we don't have any freaking LB's now! You don't think Rob Ryan knows how to run a 4-3? We are desperate, first thing we did today was pick up a LB.

Long term I think we should go 3-4 but, man, this season it might better we wait another season.

um, Galette, Wilson will be back for game 1; Atkins, Galette, Wilson, Johnson, Martin, not to mention the new Haralson...

That's 6 OLBs right there...

"I'm sorry, Rob... You'll have to throw 70%(random #) of your playbook away and adapt 4-3 in 2 weeks!" Total insanity

Desperate times require desperate measures. Play to our strengths now. I'd take our four best DL over our four best LB right now.

As for Ryan's play book did you see how many times we were in 4-3 alignment on Sunday? We played in that formation for most of the first series.
