Re: Meachem breaking news
Meachem was not a bust with the Saints, but he certainly didn't live up to his draft status. First-round pick should have a career high of more than 44 catches in a season.
Still, he was a useful player. |
Re: Meachem breaking news
Add me to the list of people that hate this move I just don't see the sense in it at all. So let me get this straight thats 7 wrs now 5 RBS 2 TES 5 inside lbers and only 3 OLB 2 out of those 3 coming off recent injury 1 of which Martez has not been able to stay health since he has been here. No wonder our defense sucks if Mickey and Sean only care about getting more Offensive players. IF we don't start bring in some defensive talent My thread on the next DC isn't looking so dumb anymore is it
{ THE Three or so people that seem to have all the answers to every thing that's posted on this site can rip me apart for saying this but I really don't care it must be tough for you guys to get in a room with brains and egos as big as yours } |
Re: Meachem breaking news
Im thinking that we may be looking for something in return if we sign meachem and take that dead money off of SD's hands. At least a pick or player or Idk.. if we sign him before Sunday that's the only benefit I see.

Maybe Colston's foot is worse than we think?

Re: Meachem breaking news
7 wrs mostly due to injuries.. Colston isnt 100 a lot of the time and we have like 2 newbs included in that if Meachem comes its because he knows the system and backup incase someone gets hurt (nothing like having someone who knows the system) and most teams have two tes so u can't blame them for that. we have two good tes at that. I'm thinking that we kept 5 rbs because mainly Cadet would be Kr and Khiry was just too good to leave it to chance he'd get through waivers. I don't really care if Meachem comes back because we were solid without him.

But I don't see it as a problem anyway when you have ILBs who can play outside, Hawthorne & Herring for certain and I bet Reddick and Humber could play outside as well if need be. And Ryan lines players up all over and moves them around a lot pre-snap, so inside/outside doesn't really matter |
Re: Meachem breaking news
Yeah someone help me from doing the research here but what is the contract worth (if reported yet) and what financial hit are we taking outside of that contract (if any).
Also we all know there is a reason for this move. It wasn't on a whim or because 'he did ok last time'. The only solid experience we have at WR is Colston and Moore. Let's say Colston goes down. I don't feel confident only having the one real experienced head at WR. So I like seeing someone who is more of a vet AND knows our organisation and our staff and our playbook. That makes sense to me. |
Re: Meachem breaking news
New formation devised by SP with a 5 WR set. Failturds will never see what hit them. :clown:
