Re: Week 3 Saints vs Cardinals

The thing we have been doing really well through two games is getting pressure up top. We haven't necessarily looked like sack monsters but we are right up in the QB's face. Jordan and Hicks, for me, have been superb. That has made throwing into our secondary a much tougher feat. Jenkins and Harper look rejuvenated and Vaccaro is playing like a 1st round draft pick!

If our offence can get any semblance of a game going, especially if we get the run game going (probably through someone who is not Mark Ingram) then there is a very real chance that we could do some double digit damage in this one. Ball security is the key. No errant passes to Patrick Peterson!

Saints finally get rolling. 31-17.

They will be tough and are much better balanced offensively with Mendenhall. Their D is not too bad either, but Brees is due for a good game and I'm sure he's pissed about giving Tampa 14 points of his two INTs. It will be nice to be back in the dome after two really tough conference wins.

I wonder if we will try to get Carr back since P Rob may be done for the season. Did anyone sign him? It seemed like he did pretty well in preseason.

Any chance Deuce can lead us out of the tunnel again too?! If it worked that well last time then I'm all for being superstitious LOL.

Not very much support for Saints special teams. Hartley was 3 for 3 against Atlanta and 3 of 4 against the Bucs (outdoors and swirling wind). When he misses one, some want his FOOT on a platter. On the other hand, when special teams and Hartley wins one with a FG on the last play...minor (at best) applause.

It doesn't go unnoticed that Brees, Graham, Sproles, and Colston got the field position, but so many things could have gone wrong (as in the past) with that final FG.

Know how difficult it is to miss a 27 yard FG? That is a kick from the 17 yard line... High School kickers make that ever day, a 16 yo firld goal kicker from po-dunk Louisiana could have made that kick.

Yep, and I have seen a botched snap, a hold gone wrong, and a kicker with the YIPS, a missed block, miss from a shorter distance...extra point. All in the NFL.

What kinda condition are his knees in these days? He might have to lead them out of the tunnel in a wheelchair.
