Roman Harper - Zero to Hero

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Harper is overall above average. The one thing I absolutely love about him is his ability to hit like a MACK TRUCK...

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero

No matter how bad a player is, I don't wish injury on him. So I'm not happy he's hurt. I don't feel any differently about him though. He's back to being used in the only capacity he can reasonably perform in. He's a linebacker listed as a safety, but basically playing linebacker nevertheless.

I've often said that we could throw a lot of people in there to do what Harper does, whom would probably add more versatility. But, as long as Roman is on the team, putting him in the box is the way to go, and he's pretty decent there.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

This is probably the best, friendliest, most accurate statement of Harper's role I've ever read on our home here...

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero

I didn't realise Roman was an individual who drew so much different critique!

Well I want him back and healthy as soon as possible. I think he adds a lot. I'm also not convinced that the Cardinals game was 'our best defensive performance so far'. It yielded the least points against us for sure, but there was a lot of positive in the 2 games before that. The defence damn well kept us in the game for over 3 hours against Tampa!
