Roman Harper - Zero to Hero
So Roman Harper is officially listed as 'Out' for the Dolphins game and that disappointed me. In turn that then made me think about where my head was at in the off-season and where I think a lot of people were.
In most people's minds he had come off of the back of a season being in the worst secondary in the worst defence of all time, blah blah blah. He was going to cost a bomb to keep and there were numerous looks at Dead Money, trades and all of that. Now after only playing 2 games this season, and what with seeing a complete turnaround on the Saints defensive outings, I see him as an integral piece in our puzzle and I am truly gutted he isn't out there. Am I concerned? No, but only because of how well we have played so far this season with everyone stepping up BUT it seems like it hasn't taken that long for most, especially myself, to do a complete U-turn on what I felt about Roman out there. I hope for a speedy recovery and to get him back into our defence as soon as possible! |

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero
I never had much against Harper. Yes he is a liabilty in pass coverage but his run stopping is above average. He does have fire and is a good leader. More power to him. Something was wrong with the defense as a whole last year, starting with the coach. There is not one individual player we can blame.
That being said I think Vacarro is doing a fine job in his absence. |

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero
Vaccaro has been doing a fantastic job at SS in his absence, but I was growing fond of our 3 safety look... Especially w/ Jenkins/KV in coverage and Harper rushing the QB

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero
I think the 3 Safeties look has been superb and I definitely want him back as soon as possible. He is a good leader as well. And we need as many of them as we can get!

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero
Harper has taken a lot of heat over the years for things that aren't necessarily his fault. To some extent that is true for Jenkins too. Safety is the worst possible position when you're playing on a bad defense because you're always getting hung out to dry.

Re: Roman Harper - Zero to Hero
I'm sure Jenkins has made Harper look bad on a regular basis.
