Ive said this before.... That is what happens when you lead with your helmet.. He took a thigh right to the side of the head if i recall correctly.

Love the young buck but you are so right.. gotta hold the head up while making a tackle. Sometimes I think the art of sound fundamental tackling is lacking at this level.

Thats how we play football. I aint ready for that weenie-ball they're trying
to feed the kids now. We're one degree of wussification away from Chinese

It's called form tackling, I played 25 years ago and that was taught then, believe it or not. You lead with the face mask because you can frikken see.

+1 head up at the point of contact, tackling 101. As another poster said, you will have a short career with the 'reckless abandon' approach.

I think it is appropriate to point out that Vaccaro got hit on the side of the head with a knee when he dove to the runner's legs on an angle.

You played ball? You can dive with your head up brother, swimmers do it all the time. The only players that can't do it well are those that wear a neck brace on their shoulder pads.

When you drop your pad level holding your head up put your helmet in line with your pads and you take a thigh to your shoulder. Drop your head and it's out there waiting for a thigh.

Tackling 101.

oh, ok.. yeah... i didnt realize you meant that. yes, i played 30 years ago, and we got the same training. facemask on the ball. eyes on the ball.
