Being that they must give him a try you never know what kind of shape he is in. Although I read a month or so ago he was in 'football' shape but that's speculative. I linked the article in a post about it a while back and I don't feel like digging for it. EDIT: found it Saints’ Victor Butler, Jonathan Vilma optimistic about return | NFL | New Orleans Saints |

Re: Victor Butler back at practice
Today was the last day to start practicing or go to IR. but again, you don't start practicing unless he's ready to.
I say it's about 50/50 that he play this year. I wouldn't rule him out especially since he didn't think it was that serious of an injury, disputed the decision and got a 2nd opinion. |

Re: Victor Butler back at practice
I* don't know about this, I think he goes on IR until next season, our D has been playing real well and his injury was bad. I say give him more time to fully recover instead of risking injury again.

Re: Victor Butler back at practice
His salary may not say Victor will make much of a difference but I know he'll be huge. He may not gain the starting spot we thought he would but he will be a fresh body to blitz which is very underrated in the NFL, especially a guy with his skill set.
